HTML Links

       Basically, we use <a> tag to show linking. <a> states the anchor tag used for hyper linking. This anchor tag will also include " href " attribute which is specifying hyper reference.

In my previous blog I started with basic HTML, one more thing to update you is we can create static web pages by just using HTML.

Now, there are some tags to go through

1)Heading tag
2)Paragraph tag
3)HTML links
4)HTML images

Heading Tag : HTML headings are defined with <h1> to <h6> tags.
                              <h1>.........</h1>
                              <h2>..........</h2> and so on.

As we have already seen heading tag with example so we will directly switch to Paragraph tag.

Paragraph Tag : HTML tags are defined with paragraph tags.
                                  <p>..................</p>

Your Code :

<html>
<body>
<p> This is my first paragraph to show the demo.</p>
<p> This is my second paragraph to show the demo.</p>
<p> This is my third paragraph to show the demo.</p>
</body>

</html>

HTML

HTML stands for hyper text markup language which is used for describing web pages. You can easily enhance its look and feel in the way you like, but only after you will go some of the examples. There is lot to learn in HTML as the technology never stops. So, why not lets be a beginner ans start with a basic.

  1. HTML is a set of markup tags.
  2. Documents of HTML are best described by HTML tags.
  3. Each HTML tag describes different element with its unique properties.
Its quite easy so let's have a look on its tags with its properties and you will be able to see the OUTPUT also with each example.

HTML tags are of two types :

1)open - close
2)self - close

Open - Close tags are those tags which require start and end. For example-<p>....</p>,<h1>...</h1>
Self - Close tags are those tags which does not require any end. For example - <hr>, <br>, <img>, <link>

The start tag is often called the opening tag. The end tag is often called the closing tag.

Points To Remember
  • The text between <html> and </html> describes the web document
  • The text between <body> and </body> describes the visible page content
  • The text between <h1> and </h1> describes a heading
  • The text between <p> and </p> describes paragraph
To go through the HTML practice you can use any of the following editors

Notepad ++
Geany
Notepad
Dreamweaver

Open Notepad >> write the code >> save file with extension (.html, .htm) >> double click on file >> Output will be visible to you.

REMEMBER to save all your HTML files with extension .html, .html.

Your Code :

<html>

<head>

 <title> First Demo</title>

</head>

<body>
<h1> This is First Heading.</h1>
<h2> This is Second Heading.</h2>
<h3> This is Third Heading.</h3>
<h4> This is Fourth Heading.</h4>
</body>
</html>
